Smile big nut on frame

.could any bold tell me what the big nut does that is behind the frame where the swinging arm bolt goes through,and do worn sprocket carrier rubbers cause vibration,thanks

Big nut = good nut.

You can always tighten it from the outside with a 15mm hex key.
