Sprocket bearing

Well after finally reading through it plenty of times Ive decided I'm going to do the sprocket bearing mod by boring out the carrier by 5mm and reducing the spacer by 5mm. however I can't seem to get my hands on the fag 62304-2rsr bearing required as I keep getting the single roller type and not the double.

can any one send me a link?

Angular contact bearing are unsealed..
a double row stack is 2 single row bearings
back to back..
Angular contact "73XX series bearings" are made
to take side load "thrust" & have to be instaled
in the correct direction or the will fail...

Indeed the one in the first link is unsealed. It's only the single row angular contact bearings, unlike the double row, that are only available in unsealed varieties.

However, double row angular contact bearings are available in the sealed type (2RS).

These bearings perfectly as they take radial, axial and tilting loads very well - ideal for what the sprocket carrier bearing has to deal with:

Maxwell
I have just completed my bearing mod and measuring my old original bearing by rule not vernier, it is about 21mm inside, 52mm outside, and 15mm wide.
The new double row 4304-2RS was 21mm wide requiring a 6mm variation.

@Schnidely,

I have a question about the modification of the cush drive you did on your xt660.

I ordered the same bearing as you used, the chamber I work 6 mm deeper.
The spacer can be shortened or worked on the lathe 6mm long.

Which option did you choose? If the spacer is 6 mm shorter, it does not wear in the entire bearing.

I would like to hear your reaction.

With kind regards,
Whazaah.
