New exhaust system
Hi guys,
Recently bought a new 660 tenere and want to fit some new pipes. Thought I'd ask the experts what they think, arrow vs sbk vs scorpion vs akrapovic. I like the look and sound of the scorpions. Any tips? Cheers Pete |

I have the Scorps, look and sound well.
Fairly straight-forward to fit. |

Conversely I have the Yam Akrapovics and think with one baffle removed they sound spot on.
I had the Leo Vinces and thought they were heavy and overly loud. I've had a single silencer system and that too is just too loud. |

I did have the Akrapovic system and to be fair it's a nice exhaust, but it isn't exactly light at 6.2Kg (stock is 7.5Kg) and it still contains catalysts. As Tom implies, it's too quiet with baffles in, and too noisy with them out (but does sound good).
I now have this. At a tad under 1.5Kg (including the link pipe and fittings), it's as light as a feather. With the baffles in, it sounds about right IMO - a full and throaty tone, but nothing that will pi55 anyone off or attract unwanted attention. |

+1 for the exhaust of choice of pleiades.
Mega light and nice sound although I did get a few comments on a recent long haul road trip that it was too noisy. However, I like it and they can go swivel! Hahaha. As for ruggedness, it made it from Cheshire, UK to Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia without a hitch. Lots of gravel sections and offroad through various degrees of hard and soft sand. Fitting was a bit fiddly but once. Done it hasn't move in 12000 or so miles. Plus the single can let's you fit a decent sized tool tube like the one pleiades has (and I copied). Bags of room for tools, spares, etc. Sandman.

This is Leo Vinces without baffles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsVd0yLsSZE Given that the majority (all) of bikes on the dyno had been IL4s screaming away there were a few turned heads at the big single. |

Exan all the way
I also have the Exan oval titanium with carbon cap. I too run it with the baffles in and find the noise level good. Nice noise, not too loud. And it's very light and as others have said, left me room to build and fit a nice big tool tube too.

Cheers guys, great info, and the exan will save me around $600 as the akrapovic a are $1500 fitted over here!! Vs the $700 I can get over for and self fit! Thanks

I can say after drooling at the Exan on here, I bought it and I'm so glad!
It took me about an hour or so to fit (while I was playing with pannier rails and LED indicators as well) Looks fantastic and sounds even better. Baffles out is fine for me. Glad I blocked off the AIS, or this pipe would sound like a 12-gauge!
