chain service

well i'm interested how many kilometers or miles can one average driver do with original chain? I've bought used xt, 2004. with almost 21tkm.. now i have nearly 23tkm and my chain is ready for trash... One link isn't moving so much and chain is not equaly strained

I think it depends on the type of riding you do. If you are an aggressive rider then it will not last long. It also depends on what sort of care your chain gets, I have a Scottoiler which helps to make it last longer.

This could be made into a thread just like the tyres. How much, how long they lasted with what type of riding you do?

Possibly? I guess its not as sexy as tyres (if tyres are sexy?)!

well like i said didn't do so much km's on bike but i have impression he don't like driving in one gear steady, bike is more up or down throttle....
