What??? A 3.50 x 21 front?? Great stuff. We
need these for our work bikes!!
Sadly, I don't think they're available in Australia. This is very bad. |

I had a pair of Trelleborgs on my Armstrong MT500.
Terrifying loaded up on motorways. Not bad studded on ice. But on the whole, terrifying.

Yes, a group of us went to Mo i Rana in Norway on 2x XT660R, 1x XT660Z, 1x BMW GS1100, and my MT500 - in February 2011.
All except the BMW had Trelleborg "Army Specials" - with bikes fully loaded with camping gear on ice free motorways they were really hard work - especially in crosswinds. Not so bad on snow and packed ice but the speeds were lower and we had other things to worry about. One of the Rs shredded its front on the way back through Denmark. I kept them on my MT until I flogged it after I'd removed the studs but I wouldn't use that bike on motorways with those tyres - really unstable. We all did a fair few miles on them and they were universally mistrusted at speed but they accepted the ice studs well enough.

For us, though, the tyres would never see a tarmac surface, let alone snow, unless it was a workshop. Got to be better in sand at low speed than your average 21-inch skinny. Surely?
