New Farkles

Well my old (18mth) Famsa tank bag died so decided that Giant Loop was more compact and water proof so worth a try as a replacement.
While I was busy fitting, my steering damper turned up so the big girl got bags, damper and I managed to squeeze a full service in today!! Go to love school holidays!
Matt

Looks great, but...............I have a similar setup with the Famsa bag and I would put some gaffer tape where the buckles touch the tank at the front to protect the paint on the tank. (or similar)

Cheers Steve, but the famsa is history as the top zip pulled the "teeth" away from the material. Upholsterer said he could have a go at replacing the zip but for the price and condition of the bag after 18mnths I thought I might as well invest in something better.

The giant loop setup has no exposed buckles on the sides ( great for the knees) and the two side pannier buckles hang in the air due to the dip in the tank. The only one that touches is the the one in the pick coming up from the tank.
I'm not worried as the famsa bag scuffed the tank pretty badly...or was it all the mud and dirt the IT got exposed to haha!!

Yeah, the Famsa ideea of unzipping everytime you need to get fuel is plain stupid. I unclip mine, but then I do like the GL tank bag that you have so might have a look at one.

My Famsa frame was secured very tightly, it held my sheepy in place with no other restraints. I would have found it hard to un clip the bag each time fuelling up. All I did was unzip to the edge of the seat on the lhs and flip the bag over, basically the same as this....

The picture is the new GL bag but same result only the GL bag has two zips not one so I can choose which to zip depending on situation etc but I couldn't with the Famsa. Pretty quick and easy, just remember to keep the bag closed when flipping
I paid $295au for the Fandango Pro, it's 8l where the Diablo is 4l...couldn't imagine only 4l since the Famsa was 20l extended. I was surprised how much room the 8l has since a lot of the Famsa volume was in the side pockets the insides of both are not that much different. It's the outside the GL is worlds apart, slim and tapers back towards the handle bars...

Haven't been Offroad yet but basically in standing position I didn't find myself hitting the bag at all!!
Additionally love the secret pocket, through cable access and front mesh pocket of the Pro over standard, worth it in my opinion.

All in all stoked and that's not even mentioning how well the pannier pockets fit and sit

Matt.
