No grease and rust @1500km

I did a bit of reading about bearings not being greased properly from factory so decided to have a look to do some preventative maintenance . I couldn't believe my eyes when u took my swingarm off. My bike is near brand new only 1500km on the clock and there was already rust on the bolts and inside the bearing bushings, I'm very glad i opened her up. I cleaned and repacked with good quality waterproof grease in all the swingarm and rear shock bearings plus the top and bottom head stem bearings. It only took me 4 hrs sold work witch I was pretty impressed with considering im no mechanic. All the bearings were fine but extremely low on grease. Im super happy now i know exactly what the state of my bike is and how it all works. Plus the steering now feels amazing like a whole new bike.

Wow

Thanks for that info. I did my head bearings a couple of months ago but have not yet got to the swing arm, but based on what you have said, I am going to make sure I get there much sooner rather than later! I know I need to.
