Xtr rear wheel fitting tips?

Hey guys,

I had the rear wheel off yesterday to fit some new cush drives, and it was a pig to get back on afterwards, and had the most trouble with the caliper mounting knocking the spacer out when moving the wheel into position and ended up using a cable tie to hold it in place while I got everything aligned.

Does anyone have any tips to make the job easier in future?

^That would be my "top tip" - use cable ties.

Use one on the caliper to hold it to the swingarm, as you've done, and three tightly holding the sprocket to the spokes keeping the sprocket carrier and cush drive in check. Then as mentioned, small plank of wood to hold the wheel up, and grease up the spacers to hold them in place.

TBH, once you've done it a couple of times it becomes second nature. First time is always a PITA.

Cable ties work...
I have drilled 2 6mm holes in the caliper bracket with cable
ties though them around the swing arm...

Cheers for all the advice guys, I've not fitted a centre stand on the bike, I think the bash plate would get in the way. So for now I'm using a paddock stand.
