Frando master cylinder/levers ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011236852...84.m1423.l2649

Sold in UK by Venhill who are a well known and reputable company.

Thinking about my options as the XT660X is going to be used on track shortly and I'd like a bit of a brake improvement.

Any thoughts ?

The main advantage of the radial master cylinders is that they move the lever pivot point inward so that the same given pulling force develops a smaller moment about the connection point to the bars. The result is less flexing of the master cylinder and improved brake feel, but no more braking power as such.

Generally, the improvement people notice in actual braking force after fitting radial master cylinders is the fact that they have a different size piston bore over stock, not the fact that they are radial. Radial master cylinders are usually (but not always) better quality than OE too, which helps, as well as having slightly better thought out lever/pivot ratios, which again applies just the same to axial master cylinders.

IMHO, the most important thing to consider in choice of master cylinder (whether radial or axial) for your XTX is the piston size. This is what will influence the braking efficiency most and for that matter the feel too.

Have a gander at this web page. It relates to classic race bikes, but the physics involved is exactly the same as with any modern disc-braked bikes.
