Not on my bikes Bri, but i drive diggers and the like and they all come as standard, and for what you're doing it makes sence to get on.
Did take some tights to Maroc with me but found i didn't need to filter fuel there.

They're a good idea. My Land Rover has one and even here in the UK it makes life easier as you don't have to be so fussy when you're filling up out of a fuel can, particularly an old steel one, such as a jerry can, that will undoubtably have flakes of rust in it.

Yeah I'm just getting a bit worried with the miles and age of my bike that the internal fuel filter is nearly done. Heading into South America again in a few days so thinking this might take the strain off the filter. Just haven't found one that will fit. Have seen the funnels with in built filters in them but haven't really got the room to carry one of them around. Gotta come up with something

The ladies tights idea aint bad Brian , a little strange but takes up no room or what about the little in line filters again small and cost pennies , well here anyway , but you could carry 2 or 3 spare in your pocket as they are only about as big as a boiled sweet each !!

And an American company makes something similar, a small portable filter which can then be washed out with water and stops the sand and rust and stuff, I will let you know when I find the name and stuff.....

I didn't know about these filters, so thank you for posting! I ordered one to fit Safari tanks ie for my work WR250R. Great!

I don't know if they can make one to fit our Teneres, but will email them...

Ok. I've just read the Profill Q&A section. Any bike with a key-locked, hinged fuel cap cannot, as far as they are aware, be fitted with a pre-filter.

Looks like we have to rely on the internal filter, which might be able to be replaced, though I haven't asked.

Not tried it (no need for me) but I know KTM do a filter sock for their new injected bikes. Many of them suffered blocked injectors when they first came on the market so they introduced them (and different internal injector filters) .

Thanks for the replies. Would be good if someone can find something that fits. I've heard of using the tights before but I don't think it will stop any water going through.
