Metal Mule 2 in 1
Hi to all,
After what looked like a long wait I got my MM pack. By the way thanks to the guys - great job. Here is what i have got: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2011.04.46.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2011.04.52.jpg Now the fitting part, in fact it took me nearly four hours as there were few things i had to fine tune before everything was ready: Before: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2011.04.59.jpg During the process: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2011.30.51.jpg Then i discovered this: In the welding process of one of the heat shield nuts on the inner side of the short downpipe there were some steel "bulges" leftovers from the weld. I had to file them which was easier said then done as the steel is really hard and difficult to file. On the other hand the access is limited and the only thing i could think of was to do it by hand. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2013.03.13.jpg and after.... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.14.22.jpg Heat shield on the airbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2014.13.42.jpg and the final result: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2017.07.09.jpg What to say I am very happy with the results: The bike feels really well and lighter The other thing is - it is louder than the stock pipe but still road legal, which is the best part.... I think that if it was an X 2 in 2 would look best but for R the 2 in 1 is a must. Yamaha should have done that from the very beginning... and now: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2017.07.09.jpg
