Hello from Newbie in Kent...

Afternoon all.
I've just bought myself a new toy...a 2007 XT660X.
Looks lovely in black with gold rims. :-)
I bought it for some fun and commuting through traffic on. My current ZZR1200 is just too heavy and powerful for the commuting. Great on long open roads though!
I've noticed that the surging my XT suffers with under light throttle appears to be a common problem, despite the previous owner having done a few mods in an attempt to cure it.
Hopefully this is the right place to speak to someone to help make my bike ride as well as it looks.
Anyone located in the South East of England with a sorted 2007 model?
I'm hoping to pick up some ideas on curing the surging, fitting some nice sounding pipes, and any other good mods that people can recommend.
Looking forward to participating in the forum. :-)
Regards, Rob.

Haven't got an X, but I'm in Kent as well. Welcome! If there's an answer to an XT problem, you'll find it here.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. :-)
Glad to hear there are some other Kent XT riders. Any of you looking to do the May Day run to Hastings?
My bike has had a few mods to reduce surging...air box drilled, snorkel removed and oxy sensor mod. Looks like there's plenty still to do.
I'd love to give it a little more grunt and some deeper sounding pipes.
It's deffo a licence saver compared to the ZZR1200, but I love being able to give it some beans without it flying to three figure speeds before you know it.
Right...I've got a lot of links to look at.
Happy Easter all!
