MTC end can popping like a mother

hello people.

just signed up after scoring my 08 xtz with 5500 on the the clock to replace my old Dakar.

fitted a MTC can yesterday to give it a bit more presence as I use it as a work bike in and around London.

no drama fitting the can, but my word its popping like a *******!..

can I get a heads up about ais pipe blocking.

stay cool...

random bang

sorry guys.

I`m down with the popping, but every now and then its like a shotgun, a real bang!.

clamps are nice and tight, no leaking, my old Dakar popped a bit with scorpion end can, no db killer, but this is a proper bang!

is this standard with MTC single can?

cheers and thanks for advice..

Now that you have explained that your exhausts is a 2 into 1 system then yes, the popping is common with these system. There's a lot of compressed gases to be forced through one single exhaust therefore snap, crackle and pop is something you'll have to live with.

I fitted a Leo Vince pipe last week, when u throttled off it sounded like
a sniper rifle. AIS now blanked off and now only an occasional backfire.
On the basis I'm off to Mongolia in May via Iran, I thought it prudent to remove
the backfire as theres no guarantee in remote areas the locals wouldn't fire back :-s
