Woops - broke a spoke (facepalm)
Hey folks.
I did something rather stupid yesterday and in my haste to get away from 14 hours at work, I tried to ride off with my chain attached to a metal railing. ![]() The chain (rubber coated) was fed through my rear wheel and as it tightened, it popped a spoke out of the rim. Everything seems to be fine I didn't exactly race off, the rear axle hasn't moved, the front sprocket seems ok and so does the chain. The part that joins the spoke to the hub is fine, but as i can see, the spoke entry into the rim is threaded and i think i've torn this out and damaged the thread. Had to bolt-crop the spoke out so I could get home (would have caught in the chain otherwise) Should I be replacing this ASAP? I was considering going for a stainless set anyway. Can I continue to ride while missing a spoke?

one spoke should be ok. the spoke is attached to a 'nipple' that pushes through the rim. buy a new spoke and nipple and swop - easy job. I'd offer to help but ive tornmy bisep yesterday to on light duty. can give advice but no work. i have a tyre/bead breaker etc.
