Tubless tyres on spoked rims ?

Have a niggling question about my tyres on my xtx. Tyres are pirelli diablos and are marked as tubless radials. Could or should these have an inner tube with the spoked rims. How can i tell without taking the tyre off. Also valve is leaking air around the nut against the rim. Can this be replaced without taking the tyre off if there is no innertube. Long story short "slow leak - cheap fix - does my tyre have an innertube"

as far as i am aware without a tube it would go flat as of all the holes for the spokes i run battleaxes with the tubes put in and its fine before that i ran pirrelies all "tubeless tires) but run fine with a tube . one way of telling is if its got a tube u will find a nut at the base of the valve and if it was without tubed u would have a valve that looks same as a car type ?

Spoked rims need inner tubes, unless the spokes do not go through the rims but have a special setup like on the GSA, on Moto Guzzi's or like on the Super Ten. Or when there is an aftermarket system like Tubliss installed.

The fact that there's a nut means that it has an inner tube. Valve stems on tubeless rims have no need for the nut.

If it is leaking at the bottom of the valve stem, replace the inner tube.

Thanks guys.. All makes sense now. Gonna invest in a set of tyre irons and have a go at changing the innertube this weekend.
