Tenere 17" to 18" rear rim conversion
Hello,
since my original rear rim is finished I have to change it. I do quite a lot of off road riding, and also some sand/dune riding. Since I have to buy new rim, I decided to buy 18 inch rim, for better performance. First I wanted to buy rim and spokes on OTR, but that will cost me around 350€. I try to save money and was thinking of buying some other used Excel or D.I.D. rim that would be 18" and would have 36 spoke holes. Original dimensions for Tenere rim is 18x2,5 - 36 spokes. Is it ok to buy used rim from Yamaha TT600 XT600 or YZ490, since they use 18x2,5-36 spokes, and they use quality DID rims? I also checked the spoke alignment and looks like they are aligned in the same pattern. I am talking about this or same rim: I am thinking of using originall hub, rim as above on picture and buying 18" spokes from OTR. This setting would be more than half the price. Will this fit together? Should I check something else here? Am I missing something here? If anybody has some experience with this please let me know. Thanks for help folks. |

HI,
like to check if you managed to get the rim replaced and how much was the overall cost for the rim, spokes and any additional items. Thanks
