Hi from Hampshire UK
Hi guys, I got a 675 for scratchin, (When its warm and dry) A GS for munchin miles with the misses, and there is a bike shaped hole in my garage for something else. Maybe its a XT 660R?
The thing is, the Daytona scares the bejesus out of me and even on a good day when Ive stuffed it in to a corner way to hot and thrown it on the deck and Im Shure Im in the ditch, the bloody thing just laughs at me, like is that all you got! where as the GS is so dammed capable with so much tech that it almost rides itself and sits in the garage looking all efficient and smug! I need a bike that I can take to the shops without having to do a pre-flight check and then loon around and have some fun at sensible speeds. Is the 660 what Im looking for? Im looking at a couple of bike this week, is there model / year I should avoid. What should I look out for, apart from the usual bike stuff? Ive got around 5k to spend your advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Mark |

![]() The only thing with the R that might be worth getting up to speed on is the fuelling/ECU/surging issues. Make sure you get a good test ride in. Might be worth having a read of this before you go and look. ![]() |

Many thanks, that’s really useful. I shall have a good read through all the info before I go and look at anything. I think this surging issue would annoy me quit quickly as I’ve got used to the supper smooth GS so cheers for the heads up.
