Tenere air filters

Hey,

Just got a couple of questions , I live in Australia and have no idea if you can get the DNA filters from somewhere other than shipped from Europe? also does the stock AUS foam air filter element filter air better than the paper ones? is there an advantage with foam filters other than that you can wash them?

About the Kev Mod / O2 Controller; the way I understand it the Kev Mod changes the A/F ratio only in the open loop, is that right? and the O2 Controller changes the closed loop to a fixed 13.6 (I think) A/F ratio? would that mean that richening the open loop with a Kev Mod would make the change from closed to open loop harsher than just having a O2 Controller? or have I got this all wrong xD.

Cheers, Andy

If you are riding in dust... say well away from DNA / K&N type of filter..
for sealed road use no probs...
for offroad..oiled foam then the standard Yamaha paper..

Heres a air filter test... note the K&N was in the bottom
3 filters in every test.... "bottom in most"

Hmm that's very interesting read, thanks. With the dusty gravel roads around here I might just stick to oiled foam filters, cheaper too

When fitting my O2 controller you are right in saying it changes the closed loop fuelling from 14,7:1 to 13,6:1, the change will make be much smoother with the O2 controller from closed to open to closed loops as the closed & open loop circuits on a completely standard bike will be roughly the same at 13,6:1.

With my fuel mod you can correct the lean A/F ratio of a completely standard XT660 from around 13.6:1 open loop to around 13,2:1 open loop, as the XT660 develops it's best HP & Torque at 13,2:1.
