newb saying hello and wanting advice.
Hi guys n girls
First off let me say hello..........HELLO I am looking at buying an XT660 Tenere 2011 and want to get some feedback... my history is sports bikes and track days but I have moved into green laning and adventure biking. I have been green laning and on an XR400 Honda and recently took a trip up to wales with a friend. Now I have the Bug and want to buy something that will chew up a few more miles and go further afield... I am looking at a 2011 XT660 Tenere that I intend to do some longer trips on. Good idea ? How good is the TENERE ? I love the torque from the 400 and just wondered how the Tenere would compare power wise to my XR400. I am not looking at breaking any speed records but for the longer trips I would like to sing along at say 75/80 miles an hour which is something the XR will not do, its only really happy at about 60 and even that can be a vibey blustery pain in the ar$e.... how well does the tenere soak up the mileage and what is its real world capability off road ? I don't expect it to be as good as the XR off road but what I am hoping for is a good middle ground. I am going to keep the XR for the out and out green lane madness but would like it if the mood were to take me (or the terrain) to be able to get the tenere through the mucky stuff if I had to. what I am basically asking is for you guys to convince me that the tenere is the bike for the job.. thanks a million. |
