4 weeks and 1600 miles later.

Hello All. Well Ive had my ten now for a month now and its nicely replaced the GTR14 till the weather gets ropey again. So totally different from the big'un and a lot of fun.

I have noticed the lack of low down grunt below 3k when in high gear. Im even considering buying a gear indicator (Mr K nicely supplies one with the GTR) as I hate the engine spiiting the dummy when its in wrong gear. Ive stalled embaressingly a few times as well.

Ive just bought a set of Leo Vince cans from fella who I hope is on here - (cheers Matt!). I will be doing the airbox and kev mod once Ive absorbed what I have to do. Everyone comments on how much improved the bike is with these mods.

Never messed with fuelling on any of my FI bikes so this is all new. I'll do my reading here but will probably have a few queries along the way.

So far so good with this bike and the mpg IS AMAZING !

Stage 2 filters, Kev mod and O2 controller will fix that. You'll then then wonder how anyone rides these in stock trim!

Consider also the O2 tuner, it really does smooth out the low down delivery and give a little more MPG too.

You'll find, with a DNA filter, O2 and Kevmod additions the bike will pull much better from lower down. I see you have LeoV's, not sure what improvements they give but certainly the MTC gave my bike the ability to pull away from around 1500rpm.

I've just finished fitting all mine today (pics soon)

The O2 mod makes the biggest difference, pulling from 2K RPM in 4th, no problem.

KevMod and DNA stage 2 just tidies it all up a bit.
Off the clutch for roundabouts, cruise at 30 in 4th for town riding.

I'd really recommend the whole lot, but start with ththe the O2 mod.

You still won't change much in 5th gear, but any lower gears are altered vastly.

Why aren't Yamaha doing this?!

Because they have to meet strict emissions regulations. Once you've bought the bike they aren't tested again... ...yet!
