my new single track bike...

just picked up a 04 WR250f for next to nothing..
needs a full motor rebuild.. Its a road legal F model
not to meany of them around..heaps of the R trail model..
will put a 270 or 300 kit in / new crank / steel valves /
stage 1 exhaust cam to give it more bottom & mid range power and knock a bit of the top end power off..
Hopefully the motor will live a bit longer between rebuilds...& Rekluse clutch..
The MX suspention needs to be softened up..
The poor old XTR can get a bit of a easyer life now...a long range ADV bike..

Hmmm well I added a XT1200Z as a long distance "comfort" tourer alongside the XT660R in the garage just under 12 months ago.

At the moment we are planning to do the Darwin / Gibb River Road / Tanami Desert / Alice Springs loop next year and this might just be the last big trip for the R.

Then I'm considering changing over to a WR450F as a more "serious" fun bike.

Time will tell

The WR250F is a great little fun bike. Very light and steers like a mountainbike. It is quite exceptional to find one that still has the tail section and the indicators on it as most owners take them off. My 250F already lost them some time ago with one of the previous owners.
Anyway, you'll have a lot of fun with that little bike!
