How to grease rear suspension & swing arm (part 2)
.Here you can see air bubbles rising up through the oil from within the chain rollers and past the 'o'rings. Now the internals are lubricated.
[IMG] [/IMG] The swing arm can be seen as is with a build of of crud over the last year. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Dust seals can be seen. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Pull off the dust seals and put to one side ready for cleaning. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Gently pull out the swing arm bushing pins. Mine were moist enough with a thin layer of grease, luckily. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Normal steel cage needle rollers. These are heavy needles compared to the swing arm. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Here can be seen that the bearings are in a cage, brown in colour. In my opinion I'd rather see the cage not there and the space that the cage takes up,being taken up with grease instead. It should disintegrate with petrol where upon I can re fit the needles and pack with said grease. Is Yamaha being a cheapskate? [IMG] [/IMG] Pins and seals thrown into petrol for cleaning.
