Tube inflation

This is possibly the dimmest query I have ever posted, but ...

I have a tubeless repair kit in the garage, but currently don't have a bike with tubeless tyres. Am I right in thinking that the gas bombs and the little adapter that screws on the valve will be OK for inflating a tubed tyre post-repair? I can't see any reason why not, but I thought I would ask. Supplementary question for bonus points: roughly how many CO2 bombs would it take to inflate a tyre to a rideable condition? (I carried the kit for many thousands of touring miles, but never had to use it, so I haven't a clue if it's one or 20.)

I'm trying to put together a tyre repair kit which doesn't involve a mini-pump (lazy) or a compressor (space, weight).

Also, any recommendations for a good patch kit?
