xt660z exhaust on a xt660r?

Probably a stupid question... but im looking around for an xt660r 2into1 exhaust system that doesn't go underneath the engine. But i mostly find ones that are for the xt660z ten' that are like this. Would this xt ten downpipes fit the xtr?

i say just the down pipes as i know that the frames on the two bike are different so the can mounting spots would be miles out. but if the both have the same engine then maybe the downpipes would be near dead on?

cheers

I don't know if the xt660z exhaust would fit but you might just check out Metal Mule and off-the-road.de! I have the Metal Mule one but it sometimes is quite tricky to get it on (I had a couple of alignment issues). I guess the one from off-the-road.de is more expensive but probably better quality too... depends on what you wanted to spend.

This is mine while installing:

How much did that cost you if u dont mind me asking? The can seems a bit large for what I'd personally like but I suppose I could change that to something smaller no problem right?

I bought it from their website and it says there it costs 363.56 GBP excl shipping. Pictures on the website show an older style can and heat shield. So my picture is more accurate of what you can expect.

That's a pretty good price. I'll look into it. I did have a read of your efforts to fit the pipe as it was quite hard so thy may be a problem. But for almost half the price of otr then it might me worth a little effort.
