Grippy road-only tyres for XTR?
I bought my XTR thinking I might take the occasional dirt track but in reality I don't see it happening now. Short of trading for a Duke 690, I've got to figure out my options to make the XTR all it can be as a road bike without spending a fortune. First stop: tyres.
Is there anything really grippy available for the 21" rim? I know people rave about Distanzias and EXPs, but I'm looking to go one step further and go for something with no off-road bias at all. Does such a thing exist? Contintenal Trail Attack is the only thing that looks like it might be what I am after.
Edit: Just thought of an extra question. My bike is a 2009 model, registered in 2011. However, I'm assuming that means the tyres, original Tourances, have been on the bike for 4 years. Despite having only 3500 miles on them, would I be correct in guessing that almost any new tyre would be a significant improvement over a 4 year old "mark 1" Tourance?
