Odd sidestand movement (XTR)

Can anyone tell me if this is normal:

When squatting beside the bike, the sidestand has some play that lets it rock in and out, as opposed to the normal side-to-side movement. It's almost as if the main bolt were loose, but it doesn't seem to be. Is this normal, or should I take the stand off to investigate further?

Yer normal for a used side stand... just about all bikes wear there side
stand mount plate/hole... Yer think the manfactures would have
solved it after 50 plus years...
The XT side stand is better than a lot I have come across..

Thanks Petenz.

But this bike is only 12 months old (new to me). If it's because the slot is oversize, it must be like it from new.
