Thumbs up I'm a newbie !

Hi I'm new to all this. Thought I'd just give its go and see what happens. I've just got my self a 07 xtx . I previously had a bandit. My xt seems to stutter a little. Is this the surging I keep reading about. I have replaced filter for k&n and also removed the snorkel. It has helped but not cured it. I don't want to do anything that may ****** the bike up. I must admit I wasn't sure I did the right thing changing my bike. But I'm now lovin it!!!!!

You have a lot to read through our technical threads to learn how to fix the surging, start by clicking on this link to learn how to adjust your Co values:

Ok thanks will have a fiddle over the weekend. Can adjusting these levels do any damage to the bike? Would there be any advantage of changing my spark plug for an iridium one?

Welcome to the forum, you have found the right place to learn how to make your XTX more fun than a flock of Bandits.....Read, ask Kev, read some more, then get modding. Thats what I did and I really love my XTX, now. I have done CO adj. (easy), upped tickover,(easy) stage 1 k+n, stage 2 DNA filters, drilled and shortened snorkel,Kevs fuel mod( excellent, easy to fit, ) reduced my surging by 80%., Akras. Kevs throttle body mod, (easy). Trust Kev+ Captmoto, they have been doing this for a while, and all the mods are tried and tested many times over. Good Luck...................

We wouldn't recommend something to you, at the risk of you coming back to nag at us, so what we do suggest it is both safe to do and effectively tried and tested.
