Engine bar, not big ones !!

Im sure Ive seen some bikes with engine bars that look like the ones that go around the GIT bash plate. But , these are fitted to the bike with the OE plastic bash plate. Were they once available as a Yamaha item ??.
I dont want to go down the route of "large coming up the side of the bike" yet if I can get hold of this type.................. that is of course if Ive seen correct

Yes. they were the original OE engine bars. There were some problems with the mounting breaking away ( I had such a problem), there was , or what appeared to be a second generation where the mounting bracket was slightly different (I had these ones too), and these appeared to be better, but Yamaha stopped selling them shortly after.

Yamaha have never made engine protectors, they used to sell some made for them by an obscure Dutch company. The ones made by R & G are 100 times better. I have just ordered a set of engine bars made by GIVI as they look good http://www.givi.it/attachfile/conten....man_tn359.pdf
I wanna fit a set of extra lights so I needed some bars.......

Yep Those are the OE ones I had. Funny how they sell them in New Zealand, but not Europe/UK..

On the plus side...

At least they are selling the pannier rubbers now - 13 is way better than a whole new mounting set!
