Hi guys, been advised to adjust my idle speed to prevent the beast cutting out occasionally in slow moving traffic when I pull the clutch in. Any hints or tips as to how to do this? And any specialised tools req'd. Thanks in advance max

Would just add that you can always install a rev counter. I bought a Koso unit for �40. You just need to find a convenient place to fix it & run a wire down to the HT lead. Hold in place with zip-tie, et voila.....
Much easier than fiddling about with the diag display etc & handy when you're riding.

kneel down on the sidestand side of the bike, left hand side and look under the tank behind the engine. You should be able to see the throttle cables on a brass coloured circular plate. near the top of the plate is a small knurled bolt with the head towards the rear. This is the throttle stop.
Might help to turn the throttle grip with the engine off while looking so you can see what is moving.
It's tricky to get to, many pipes in the way. I use one finger of both hands, one on the top and one underneath the bolt to turn it.

Turn the bolt a quarter turn clockwise once the engine is nice and hot.
I don't worry about the exact idle speed, just do it by ear.
If you are still stalling, try another quarter turn.

I find the bike revs too high when cold and the fast idle is on, but it slows down a bit when hot.
It's too high an idle speed for my ears, but it needs to be high enough to prevent the stalling.
I think the spring behind my bolt is not strong enough as I need to adjust the speed up every 3-4 months.
When I feel the engine trying to stall on upshifts from 2nd to 3rd then it's time to turn the bolt.
