Imber Village and Salisbury Plain.

I had a day out in a damp but very mild Witshire on Saturday.
Plan was to visit the "ghost" village of Imber and then head over the rest of the Salisbury Plain training area.
I'll let the pictures do the talking-

On to a couple of grass byways heading to the tank training area at Tidworth-

No tanks today-


I gave this ford a miss....bit to deep and 80 miles from home!

and on to the training village nr Chitterne-




A great day out,covering just under 200 miles...90 of them on gravel/grass.

Only three bikes and one group of 4x4 seen during the day.

Looks great. Done the Plain many times, but never been to Imber.

Do you have to check when it is accessible to the public?

Easter will be the next time the village/range will be open.When I get the exact dates I'll post them up.

Hello mate hows it hanging? We were up there on the Bakery Run the previous weekend. I have never seen so much water on the Plain. The pic below is normally a lane not a river! The mighty XTR rescuing a BMW:

I'm good thanks.
I read all the reports on the bakery run including yours....looks like a great day was had by all.
XT rescue service.

Love the first picture,thats the lane that goes past the Great Bustard release pens.
Normally very wet with a deep gravel base but never seen It like that.....superb.
