Xt660x fuelling issues
Hi guys, a relatively new to the forum and am after a little bit of help/advice. I purchased a xt660x back in August this year- a lot more enjoyable than my er6 I had before this. Not long after purchasing I have found a few issues with her, occasionally when I pull the clutch in when am in slow moving traffic she cuts out and requires restarting. I don't think it's an issue with the clutch but the common poor fuelling at low idle speeds...... I have been out on it yesterday, yes it was very chilly but had to be done. The bike had been sat for about 2 months and fired up first press of the button. After about 5 miles it felt like I had run out of fuel, no power and the bike was misfiring, popping etc. So I returned to the garage and refuelled to make sure. It occurred again after about 2 miles. Now I am aware that the bike has got the kev mod fitted to it, laser produro cans and a non standard air filter - not sure what model. I really want to get this sorted, it is an amazing machine and is thoroughly enjoyable to ride. Any body got any ideas as to what I can check/do to try and rectify the issues I am having.I.e should I be checking all the settings in the dash, I have considered a power commander????? Set your idle speed to 1500rpm when the bike is at operating temp, that should sort the cutting out when slowing down.
Make sure you have fresh fuel in the bike, in Oz the fuel would have gone off if the bike was left standing for 2 months.

Hi Kev, thanks for a quick response. How do you go about turning the idle speed up?? I'm not at home at the moment but cannot remember seeing a rev counter on the bike??? Thanks max
