Pannier Rail
Does the pannier rail go over all after market exhausts?

Do you mean the Yamaha pannier rails or one of the many other options?
I have a single X Racing can and ARD pannier rails (Holan I think?) and there's tons of room. I would imagine that aftermarket cans sit within the parameters of the Yamaha unit, certainly the Akra's/Leo Vinces seem to.

i have OE rails and tried a mtc single can. it cleared the rail but was too close to the pannier so i took it off again. it was too loud anyway.

Not sure. I got it second hand but very good condition. I'm not the only one that think they are too loud. There's another thread on here somewhere.
I'm not a big fan of the db killer type baffle as its a lazy way of killing sound - and subsequent power loss, instead of engineering in a mellow sound with modest power gains and light weight. But at 80 quid I gave it a go. Got my money back as I sold it within minutes.
