Headed out on Thurs morning to get the early boat ,this was cancelled due to the high winds , not a great start.The ferry people stuck us on another ferry into Cairnryan this added 60 miles on to our first day ,with the wind howling we headed for Portree Skye ,by the time we had reached Inverary the sun was out but the wind was still blowing ,Up past the commando memorial and over Invergarry the temp dropped and it began to really blow hard and pour down . We had originally planned to take the road out of Fortwilliam to Malaig and get the ferry but with our first ferry being cancelled it ment we had to head for the Skye bridge and hope it was open with the high winds.The little Tenere hammered away into the head wind struggling to pull in top gear .330 miles later we made it to our B&B un packed the bikes and headed for a few pints of Guinness :tup: .Talking to a few other bikers one told us how his mate was blown over twice when he stopped at traffic lights and he himself had ended up in a ditch because of the high winds.
