I've had a XTR for a few years now, but bought a TA700 last year. Not too happy with it so just been to enquire about a trade in against a new XTZ.
I didn't know they'd crept up so high. List price was �7.1k BUT he did say Yamaha UK had got some 2011 models in black. What should I be paying for one of these 2011 bikes (new), and are there any significant 2012 improvements?

There are no differences between 2011 and 2012 bikes other than colours (although the ABS model was available in the UK for 2011 but not 2012).

I've seen unregistered 2011 models advertised by Streetbike in the West Midlands for �6435 recently, which might give you a rough idea on price (but I should expect you could knock a bit more off?)

Thanks. My Transalp's Sept 2010 and I was thinking I'd need to put 2k to it. Sounds about right.
MCN say the TA is �6700, whereas the XTZ is �7100, is the XTZ really �400 more bike than a TA. I appreciate it's more fun, but I'd have thought the TA was more �'s worth
