Do you mean the engine bars ??

They are Yamaha OE bars. You cannot get them any more as they had a tendency to crack at the front nearside mount. I had two sets of these, the first set broke, the second set were of a different build but I sold them in favour of a more substantial bash plate.

The bash plate is also Yamaha OE. This looks good, but the front mountings are very weak. After market bash plates tend to use their own mounts fixed to the engine mounting bolts.

If you mean the two worm like things, not sure what they are. They get hot though.

I think they were a good product badly engineered. They did work very well as an anchor point on the ferries, but the just kept breaking, and always in the same place.

Someone might have a set, my second set went to Ireland, Dublin area - you never know, someone might have some sitting in a corner.

Alas Yamaha withdrew them, although you still see a few about on bikes.

Yamaha don't sell them anymore, but Adventure Spec has a similar design. But their engine bars come with the bash plate integrated.

I have the Yam ones on my bike and one of the luggs at the rear has fractured. I wouldn't recommend them unless you plan on beefing up the luggs if that's possible.

My bash plate mountings broke at the back. That was about 20,000 miles ago and it's still stayed in place.

As for the engine bars, I just welded the crack up and they've been fine since.

I think if I had to replace both, from the choice that is out there I would go for the Adventure Spec ones. A good solid design that puts the protection where it matters without getting crazy.

the rear mounts are the weak point ...

mine busted first time out ...... but a simple steel cradle sorted them out ...the o/e bash plate is as good as any after the mounts are sorted its not a difficult job if you have a drill a grinder and can weld a bit ..its pretty much 50p to put right diy

i went the whole hog and chopped the engine bars and bolted them to sw motech crash bars ..the metal mule sticker was probably dearer than the upgrade .....

they have been very good over the last two years unfortunatly they have had a bit of a testing ....im never going to be a off road god so i armour it up and give it a go ..the o/e stuff is tough when its bolted on properly
