Tyres Vs Transit

What tyres do you run?
What type of riding do you do.
Commute or off road or both?

I'll start.
My bike is my ONLY transport.
I run the OEM Tourance rubber, 2nd set.
I commute 5 days a week less than 10km one way through suburbia on sealed roads.
I fish, shop, travel all on my bike. (do have removable rod holders)
On the road the Tourance are bloody great considering the also work off road.
Off road they have saved me from make or break situations in sloppy clay! Hard to believe l known.
Run them at 20 psi and speed up considerably on the dirt. Any lower and you should have rim locks.
Here in Western Australia we have what is called "Pea Gravel"
Small marble sized rocks up to 3 inches deep on our dirt roads.
Its treacherous!
I rarely go bellow 40kph on most bends running 20 psi.
The Tourance rubber does work very well, you just have to know the limits of the front end. Its rather small.
Will be upgrading to Pirelli MT21 very soon.. or similar.

Nice thread-my turn

XtX and it's my sole transport- cover's a minimum of 50 miles each day, 7 days a week.

Experimenting with Maxxis tyres as cost is an issue for me, just used a Supermaxx Touring on the rear-impressive dry grip, good for corners at 80-90mph. However wet weather is tricky, long warm up times and unpredictable at speed-only lasted about 1500 miles, now below legal limit-i'd say about 2k miles till shot.

Getting the Maxxis Supermoto next-price is unbelivable-113 for a pair, fitted! as long as they're no worse than my knackered current tyres, i'll be so happy!

Shinko 705 are all I use on my XTR..
They work in most places... don't like
wet grass...
Yer love the prise compaired to other DS tyres..
they last longest at around 27/30 psi on seal..
work well at 18/20 on hard dirt,clay/rock/gravel roads...

Another one I would like to try is the Kenda 761
