Front

Hay

After reading a lot about rear tyres ive decided to go Mitas E09. but....this has left me with some new questions.

is there a Dakar and non Dakar version of this tyre? (front and rear)

also, all the reviews ive seen of this tyre only talk about the rear, so does that mean the front is crap?

most reviews ive read where people use a Mitas e09 rear they uses up front MT21 - poor on wet tarmac
Mich T63 - people never seem to use the rears though?

i must admit apart of me is just thinking of getting a pair of Tkc's so i can stop losing sleep over what front will siut what rear!

Just fit a pair of E-09s.

The front's fine. I went through about four sets of them over 20,000 miles. No problems for road or trail use.

Personally I favour the Army Special front these days, but it's a tradeoff - more aggressive for the dirt, but not so good on tarmac (and only speed rated to 80mph).

I have e09s and haven't crashed yet. They also wear better than the TKC80s. You will get a tyre howl once you get above 50mph though.

Thats basically why im going for them, just thought it was weird though that people only seem to mention using the E09 rear. Much like poeple never seem to mention the rear Mich T63, always the front. weird.

I am using a Metzeler Unicross on the front because it works in the dirt without sliding out and on tar is surprisingly good.

Well, after all this I think im going Mich T63 on the front as the more I read about the E09 (front) the more I hear the knobs are quite small. (Cue jokes).

Going with mitas e09 rear still though.

just a quick update.....my E09 or T63 combo is feeling dam nice. great on dry tarmac, pretty good on wet tarmac and pretty good off road. the front T63 doesnt have very big knobs when new so i'll see how it wears.

Weaves and gets noisey at 75-80...only a little though. i spend most my time at 70 so it dont matter.

would recomend.

Good combo. I used T63 with Karoos and they were well nice. Using an E09 / Metzeler Unicross combo and it works well. Unocross slightly more chuky than the T63 so grips a bit better in soft sh1t.
