puncture repair kits anyone?
have seen a few kicking about ebay...compressed cyclinders with plugs etc etc. Do these kits work? worth having under the seat all the time? been looking at vids on youtube about plugging tyres with plastic plugs or the waxy-hemp stuff you get' seems simple enough....cheers

the ones I have used so far all worked very well. BUT only on tubeless tyres. Plugs are useless on tubed tyres.

Think those are for tubeless tyres only... Good old fashioned tubes will need patches and rubber cement plus the means and know-how to get the tyre off the rim to get the tube out :-)
Just like a bicycle puncture repair on a grand scale... Cheers

They plug the tyre fine,,,, just carry a proper pump because the air canisters are, at best, crap ! You can get small MTB pumps that have switch able high and low pressure for around 20.
Or you could carry a small compressor - if you were really sad, and old.

Those CO2 powerlets take 3 or 4 to pump up a tyre. CO2 is
very temp sesitive road condiction/tyre heat will produce a big pressure diffrants... I carry a DRC mini foot pump... they are real small & light ,come with a carry bag with tie straps.. http://www.drcproducts.com/tool/d59-30/index.html

Never used one myself but have had others put then in either my bike or car tyres, but they only work for non tubed tyres. As for tubed tyres youve two options, old school remove tube and fix like a bicycle tyre, or you can put in this funny green slime for tubed tyres which when you get a puncture the liquid falls out pulling with it small platlets which when exposed to the rushing air seal the hole. Ive used this on non tubes tyres before and its great but does mess up the inside of the tyre/wheel where by some tyre fitters complain about. Never really used it on tubed tyres as i just rode and hoped i would get a puncture (only got 3 in 4 years and most where around home due to glass or screws/nails
