Off Road

Hi all
Took the ten off road yesterday for the first time,it still has the std tyers on. Anything with a little mud was a waste of time Lol. What's the best tyers to use for mostly road with the occasional off road and that will last. I'm no stranger to off road as I did a bit of MX but then went to road bikes. But it is nice to be back in the dirt and the ten seems to be a great little bike a true all rounder.

Hi
Is it worth going with a 140 rear as they are about 20 more.

heres my tuppenth
siracs ...not up to the job

three sets of tks ... the rear donald ducked at 3k miles but a decent all round tyre ..and probably the best knob on the tar

heindau k60scouts a real good road tyre ..marginal front off road tks better
decent rear in dry conditions monster tar milage ..wear band makes em proper slippy off road when they are worn halfway

644 army ...weird at first on the road but ive got used to them
but they arnt as good as near anythingon the tar ..but they have stuck tothe tarmack though .. they behave better on the tarmack with wear when the blocks have less flex in fairness they are fantastic off road and adaquate on it ..3k miles i have a lot more trust in them than the first 300 where i crapped meself
as 80percent winter trail tyre they are the mutts at 100 quid a pair
a great winter trail choice
wear ok the rear is still wet trail usful over 3k up and better 3k up than a new rear tk is for sure the front is good to go ...another winter no bother

mias e09s these are slap bang in the middle ...they are a good all round tyre ..quite good on the road ..and very decent off road
withe e09 better off road and a tk still better on road but not by that much
at 109 quid a pair the e09 will do a real good job for you 50 quid a pair cheaper than tks

MT21 front TKC 80 Rear works for me everytime
had this combo on Xt660R X2, Xt660Z X2, 800GS,s X3 the TKC is good but allows the rear to be used to steer the bike ie sliding the bike out when you want to and the MT21 grips like ****e to a blanket offroad

dry tarmac both very good
Wet Tarmac and the front can feel a little un nerving good compromise if your not going mud plucking and want goot wet road grip go with the TKC 80s its a trade off

I prefer mixing an MT21 with a Karoo in the back over the TKC. The Karoo has far better self-cleaning properties for off-road use and is better on wet tarmac than the MT21 rear.
