In-line fuel filter?
Adventure spec are selling this in-line fuel filter. For a long distance ride (London to KL in my case), is this a useful mod, or is overkill and not really necessary? It is only 7.50, but what do you reckon? Worthwhile? Cheers all.

pressure feed verses gravity feed
The pump is in the tank on your XT660, I think you need a filter capable of handling fuel under pressure not one of these gravity feed units.
Consider this, one is designed to have fuel pushed through it, the other pulled through it. All your doing is trying to save the injectors so why not run injector cleaner at regular intervals to remove the gum deposits? I am a big fan of running 1/2 mix Shellite every 5 - 10 tanks it cleans petrochemical deposits. Last edited by Woottonboy; 20-04-12 at 23:15. Reason: missed an s |

that is a gravity led filter. if you are worried about suspect fuel you can always use a filter over your tank before you fill, a pair of tights will keep out most muck, paper filters work but seem to take forever
