When you say they need adjusting, so you mean a 0.20 gauge was a loose fit?
Exhaust valve clearance is 0.16 - 0.20, which means setting it to 0.20 would be within range, but obviously at the wide end, but fine. 0.21-0.22 would be a bit loose, engine maybe noisier? No damage will be done, as a little loose is better than too tight. Exhaust valves are the ones that tend to close up over time and cause trouble (stop lifting fully resulting in burnt valves). If you've only got a 0.20 gauge then set them to that. |

It's supposed to be 0.16-0.20 on the exhaust side, so yes, it shouldn't be over 0.20.
In practice 0.02 over probably wouldn't do too much harm, but I don't understand quite why you can't set it within the proper range. Do you literally only have one gauge, not a set? How are you going to do the inlet side?

sorry, i forget to mention that i only have 0.12 0.15 and 0.20 size. So i measure the exhaust with 0.15 and it feels little bit tight, then i adjust with 0.20 tight also so i think everything is OK
![]() thnx ![]() oh one question more... new drive sprocket... i take old sprocket too fast out to remember witch side goes where..... extended part faces outside or to the motor? Sorry about bad English.. |
