Lowering Kit

Hi Guys,

I have just ordered a lowering kit from OTR to lower my XTR by 30mm. My question is, how much then, do I lower the front forks to compensate?

Any help/tips would be much appreciated.

Cheers Devo

Devo,
You can usually get away with dropping the fork through the yokes a bit. Obviously you've got to be careful that nothing makes contact on full fork compression and you will alter the geometry of the bike slightly so take it easy when you first ride it after lowering, just to get the feel of it again. I would have thought you'd be alright dropping the forks by 30MM though.
Regards
Orange.

Yes thanks Orange. I thought that making those mods would alter the handling characteristics of the bike a little, so I would take it easy until I get used to it.

Cheers Devo

You can lower the front by 30mm no problems.
