Alfred Wiedersehen (and other bikes I have loved...)

So, I've finally bitten the bullet, and the mighty Tenere is now officially looking for a new owner:

http://www.touratech.co.uk/forsale_j...aha_xt660z.htm

It's not a decision I have really wanted to make, but if I am ever to get back to The Dakar (in 2013), then I have to let her go...

The bike is available to view in Touratech UK, and should anyone from outside of the UK wish to purchase, I'm sure they can make the necessary shipping arrangements.

All the info and background is on the website link above, but if you have any specific questions, do ask away here...

The way the bike is currently set up it would make an excellent overland adventure bike, or a serious contender for the Big-Bike Challenge. I have also refitted the rally navigation brackets, so it would be very easy to attach a roadbook and IMO, and enter any open-class rally.

The Power commander and DNA filter/open airbox is currently not fitted, as I have to admit it does make the bike more juicy in the region of 10-15%, so for everyday riding you probably wouldn't want that. However, should you simply be unable to do without that extra 5bhp or so, plus the additional grunt of the custom fueling map, then refitting takes approximately an hour to unleash the full potential of the beast!

I certainly intend to stay involved with XT660.com as you guys have been so supportive of my projects in the past... It's just I'll be on something a little smaller next time I see you all!

Toot toot!

Jenny xx

Good times:

USA October 2008 - April 2009

Good luck with the sale Jenny, hope it goes to a good home.

Still can't afford it. I'm slowly progressing down the road of turning mine into a 'JMo Replica' though.

Excellent! And top marks for entering the Hafren on a Tenere!

Thanks. It was good fun, even if I did cost myself about ten places with a stupid slow-speed off. Picked up a second-hand set of WP48's on the way down there as well , just need to wave the credit card in the direction of Germany for some yokes now.

Anyway, I'll stop hijacking your thread now.

Result! - although that is just the beginning of course... you need a wheel, disc, master cylinder... plus a low KTM fender and Meca'system or Rally-Raid Products mounting brackets - unless you're going to fit a high fender instead?

Fortunately if you go for the Braking Wave oversize disc (for KTM wheels), it comes with an adapter for a Brembo caliper body, which is the same as the ones fitted to the Tenere, so at least you don't need a whole caliper too!

Hark at me - hijacking my own thread!

Well, it keeps it up the top of the 'New Posts' I suppose

Yeah, I know there's plenty more shopping to do - there's a note in my diary to speak to both Talon and Central Wheels at the Dirt Bike Show, and an eBay selling frenzy of various other things in my garage underway to pay for it all

However that's all belongs in the thread linked in my sig, not in here, so I'll shut up now .
