Beautiful Again

Well I finally managed to fix the Ten', following my rather rude abandonment of the Lakes Saturday Bash when Mr Uberthumper rode to a very impressive victory. I expect he'll be rubbing sticks together to light the fire which will light the candle to set his route in 2012, as once again I type it into my sat nav...

I very nearly opted for an OTR rally raid fairing, but quite frankly just could not believe the ridiculous high asking price. I guess if you opt to make a huge margin on little or no sales, then you don't make a lesser margin on more sales! Strange concept..

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice my failed two wheel slide technique to supermoto my way around a bend I had no chance of making.

Lessons learnt:

Be sure you have crash bars as without these I'd have lost the RHS of my engine and tank.

Try not to impale yourself onto a very strong Skidmarx screen and Tenere clocks as you will be very sore for a few weeks..

Do not under any circumstances look to your sat nav' when bends approach (this should really be top of the list).

To finish first (or last to that matter) - first you must finish!!

Roll on 2012 Lakes..

nice to see you all back together......did you change the handle bars after your supermoto slide.
and if so which option did you go for in the end?
Have to alter any cables if the case?

all the best

The Barkbusters took the impact and the LHS one was rather bent as a result - now back in order with a size 2 mallet.

The H'bars are the originals and remained straight - amazingly!!

Good to be back..

Nice work. I didn't realise you were on tarmac when you stacked it.

That said, the closest I came to crashing all day was also on tarmac when I came round a corner to find a couple of cyclists wobbling around in the middle of the road. I don't think they were too impressed by my sideways drift towards them

'fraid so.. First time I've hit the tarmac since crashing my SS50 29 years ago..

Lost count of how many enduro offs I've had though..

There were a lot of cyclists about now you come to mention it. I went over Honister Pass and as you say, it was a bit tight in places. As a MTB'er myself, I'm happy to give cyclists plenty of room..
