The bike can cope.
But overtakeing will have to be timed very carefully. And the rear shock will most likely bottom out on speed bumps and potholes though. With rider and passenger of average weight (on thin ice here as the passenger was my gf ) and preload wound up completely mine still had the tendency to do that. Installing a complete Wilbers shock improved that no end though.

Unless you each weigh 100kg+ then yes the engine can quite easily cope I did 50000kms on my XTX, 75% of that was with wifey on back with luggage.

I would place a post/thread in the Tenere section. Owned an XTR for near 4 years and only ever took a passenger as an emergency or the odd run as im a goot 15st and 6ft4 so required a fair bit of space. But the engine just needed to be worked a bit more and the gear box mixed a bit to keep the engine on the boil.

Longest run i did was around 70miles non stop alone a coast road with loads of open flowing bends and then the odd few dead stops and the R engine took it all and the passenger was a good 13 stone, so 28st in total.

Suspesion was soft as standard but was a bit overwhelmed by 2, Z should be better within the suspension situtation
