minkyhead is on a distinguished road
hagon and ohlins

well after much deliberation ive decided to go for a hagon rear shock

and ohlins springs up front

ive 11k up now in 6 months so ive given her somwhat of a rodgering ...he he

anyway the rear was not to bad but as speeds increased it was getting abrupt on sharp bumps

the front has alwas been pretty soggy ..but im pretty sure its got worse as the miles have passed by

ive ordered the springs but the shock came today

ive used hagon twice before on road bikes and found them to be much better than standard ..off road ..i dont klnow

ive found that they seem to have a good range with the hydraulic preload usually set reasonably low for solo use leaving a good deal of adjustment for weight addition ..and a very resectable ride quality

i fitted it today ...pain in the ass as the rear tail and exhaust box and link pipe have to be removed for just one bolt ..grr

on the road ..its a lot lot better .. and being able to control the rebound damping has made it a lot more controled ..it does however show the front up even worse now ..the difference in reaction
is prounounced
im pretty pleased so far as ive settled the peload around 25 percent solo with no luggage so i think the spring rate is abouit right for me as standard ..im 100kgms grr and the damping is nice and smooth

so far so good ill come back when ive done some more riding and off roading ..and played with the settings a little more

ive steered clear of proggressive spings on the tenere ..ive used them before ..what i found was the faster you went the more sense thay made ..but slower riding produced a harsher ride
now i may be wrong because i fitted them to a road bike ..full spring kit ..so maby they would be better on the tenere ..but i want to keep a nice ride quality on the blacktop ..i have them im me wee strom and they ride really well
one things for sure the standard springs are woefully soft now so somthing has to be tried

im going to try 10w oil to start with and see how its goes again trying to retain a decent ride quality
i should have em in next week

at the moment the hagon feels very promising ill keep ypou posted
