Max Load 186kg !!??
Hi,
My girlfriend and I are planning on taking a little trip around the country on our 660R. but both of us are on the heavy side, around 160kg total. This leaves 26 kg for gear and loaded panniers. This doesn't seem as much. So I'm thinking if there's any way to reinforce the subframe so we don't exceed this limit way to much putting too much stress on the subframe. What is your opinion on the problem. Do we need to reinforce or can we exceed the 186 kgs without any worries ? Tom |

I think there are some people who have exceeded this weight limit but for me ive never really taken pillions, only every in emergencies or breakdowns. But i have loaded my old XTR up with two full 48ltr panniers, a half full top box, tank bag, 5kg tent, sleeping bag etc and also im not the lightest at 15-16 stone.
If you have a luggage frame this should strengthen the rear subframe a bit as its extra rigidy for the rear of the bike, or the other option would be to make your own pannier frame and design it dually as a pannier frame but also to add strength.
