So far I have used Pirelli Stradas ( which were on it when I bought it ) which weren't bad but only average really. Then I put some Pirelli Supercorsas on as I was doing a trackday and they grip extremely well, not bad in the wet either. Currently got Michelin Pilot Roads on and they are a good tyre. Grip is excellent wet and dry and its only when really you really push the tyres that you run out of grip and they are lasting well.

I put a std diablo on the back of mine when the original wore out. Wish I'd gone softer now. To be fair, it does seem to grip well, just never chews up. Maybe that's good?

Search for Avon Distanzia on this forum, most people recommend them (as do I), they are fantastic.

Which has always puzzled me as they will not offer the same amount of grip as a dedicated road tyre.

This is what i am not sure about. I have had mostly sport bikes and cant understand how a dual sport tyre would be best for me if i am never going to go off road or even green laning, surely a dedicated road tyre would give better grip and feel compared to the distanzias. I will of course defer to you guys wealth of experience but it just seems wierd. All comments will be welcomed.
