Tool kit that comes with the bike
Alright, quick question - got a new 2011 Ten, and it came with a tool kit. In it is a huuge allen key - what is this for? I can't for the life of me find anywhere it would fit

How big is huge?
Could be for the front axel and it would be a new addition if it were. Or,it could be smaller and for the fork pre-load. Depends on the size.

If it is for the front wheels, absolutely fantastic from Yamaha- seems like they do listen and attend to owners comments and requests....

Not for any of the wheels.
Being mechanically challenged I really have no clue how big it is. It's too big to fit any nut I can see, yet too small for the wheel. I'll try to take a picture of it later. |

Double check the front axle mate - as mentioned, a 14mm should have been in earlier tool kits but wasn't inluded.
Alternatively, seeing as you said you are mechanically challenged and youve refered to 'nuts' rather than bolts in your post - are you refering to the silver coloured sparkplug 'spanner'?

Well it's closer to a 14mm than previously. lol. I still can't believe there are no tools to remove a wheel in the tool kit . How dumb is that ?

or the rubber from the OE pegs in fact, thinking about it, the toolkit is really aimed at road riders! So the person responsible for that job didn't really buy into the whole 'adventure' thing
