Bike won't start

Hi

The last 3 months I've had issues with my XT660R won't start. First I thought it was the ignition coil, but have measured the resistence on both windings, all ok.

Tried to change the spark plug, spark plug connector and ignition cable, that fixed it, at least for at week. Then the bike wouldn't fire again. So I thought it could be a bad ground connection, or perhaps a bad 12v connection to the ignition. coil. So I cleaned up the connections. That helped a few days.

Everything seems okay, but the bike wont fire.
If I unscrew the spark plug connector from the ignition cable and measure the spark that jumps from the end of the cable to the frame when cranking the engine, it is around 3-4 mm and very orange. I've been told by 2 mechanics that this spark should be no shorter than 1,0 cm and bright blue. So something is wrong, but what?

If I unscrew the ignition cable of the ignition coil and looks at the spark that jumps to the frame/engine, it is approx 1,5cm and bright blue. But strangely, the cable it correctly installe and all.

I don't get it. please help :-)
